Propolis
Propolis is a resinous substance gathered
by bees from the leaf buds or the bark
of certain trees and bushes.
The bees then use the propolis as a "cement"
that lines the walls of the hive.
Bees collect propolis, treat it with
their own enzymes and use
the sticky material to patch holes, or cracks in the hive.
Propolis keeps the hive free of germs in spite if
thousands of bees being crammed into close quarters
in the hive.
Beehives contain less bacteria and are far more sterile
than hospitals.

Royal Jelly is a thick, milky substance secreted from the pharyngeal
glands of a special group of young nurse bees between their 6th and
12th days of life after birth.
The nutritional significance of Royal Jelly is the fact that
